Your Complete Taytay Tiangge Guide: 2020 Schedule & Prices

Taytay,  dubbed as the Philippines' Garments Capital, has taken over Youtube Philippines for quite some time now and there's a good reason why. It's just so amazing to see beautiful and good quality clothing at an insanely cheap price! I've been to Taytay Tiangge for about 4 times now and I always go home with a full 3 kilos of eco bag.

I have posted around 10 vlogs about BAGPI, IGPAI and other tiangge like Freedom, EMF, TMT, Octagon and MySeoul. The videos are linked below. Aside from these vlogs, I have decided to also write about it so you have one page to check out, especially for the different schedules and locations of each tiangge featured here.

On this blog, I have noted the schedule and some information about these 8 Tiangge. The schedule are as of the 11th of May 2019.  Some tiangge do not post their schedule so I just asked some vendors of the schedule. Note that the schedule may change from time to time and be mindful that some stalls may be closed on public holidays. The prices can be found in the video.

If there are any schedule updates, please feel free to message me through this post or through any of my social media accounts. Thank you!

BAGPI GARMENT CENTER

BAGPI seems to be the most popular tiangge along with IGPAI. This tiangge is my personal favorite because I found dresses and clothes that I really like but this may just be my pesonal preference. You may find the designs better in the other tiangge. I also bought a number of my office clothes from here.

Location: BAGPI is in between MySeoul and Taytay Mega Tiangge (TMT).

Schedule:

  • Monday - 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM of the following day
  •  Thursday - 10:00 AM to 2:00 AM of the following day
  • Saturday - 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

They used to be open every Fridays from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM but this is currently crossed out in their poster.

IGPAI GARMENTS CENTER

Aside from clothes, IGPAI also has stalls that sell bedsheets, pillow cases, men's polo and so much more.

Schedule:

  • Tuesday - 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Wednesday - closed
  • Thursday - 8:00 AM to 12 midnight

Freedom Bazaar

Freedom Bazaar has 2 tents and they call it Freedom 1 and Freedom 2. Freedom 2 seems quite new because they were no stall numbers yet. I am still unclear whether there is Freedom 3, because some vendors say there's a 3rd one but others say there are just 2 tents. Please let me know in the comments below so I can correct this post.

It was my first time in Freedom and the place really looks new and ventilation is great too. Aside from women's fashion clothes, I found a few stalls that sell school uniforms for less than 100 pesos, men's polo and even scrub suits.

Location: Freedom Bazaar is one of the first tiangge you'll pass through from McDonald's.

Schedule:

  • Wednesday (night market)
  • Friday - 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Saturday (night market)
  • Sunday - 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM

*I got different schedules from different vendors. One vendor said they're also open on Tuesdays. The night market schedule seems to vary as well, some say they close at 10pm while some at midnight. If anyone knows of the accurate schedule, please let me know at the comments section of this blog.

Here's a virtual tour of Freedom Bazaar which includes prices and stall numbers for some. Check it here in Youtube and don't forget to subscibe to my channel :)

All Star Tiangge

What I love about this tiangge is the food section which looks like a mini food court! After walking and shopping for hours, it was a relief to just sit down and eat. There are several food vendors outside the tiangge too.  If you're not hungry, you will enjoy the clothes selection as well as curtains and even doormats for 25 pesos each.

Location: All Star Tiangge is near the main road. It's just next to Freedom Bazaar and alongside IGPAI. This is the first tiangge you'll see before IGPAI.

Schedule:

  • Monday (night market) - 8:00 AM to midnight
  • Tuesday - 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Wedneday - closed
  • Thursday (night market) - 8:00 AM to midnight
  • Friday - 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Saturday - 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM
  • Sunday - 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM

EMF Tiangge

EMFis another huge tent with several trendy clothes. Some stall owners don't allow taking photos and videos because they claim that their designs are being copied (that's really disappointing). The hallways are spacious, there was not a lot of people on a Saturday but I think it wouldn't feel too crowded even on a busy day.

Location: EMF is next to IGPAI, opposite Octagon

Schedule:

  •  Monday - 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM of the following day
  • Thursday - 9:00 AM to 1:00 AM of the following day
  • Friday - 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
  • Saturday - 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Octagon Fashion Strip

True to its name, the stalls are arranged in an octagon shape. It felt like a spiral, you would be going literally in circles as you walk along the stalls. It was a nice change though after passing through linear hallways of stalls in other tiangge.

Location: Octagon is just across EMF, alongside TMT (Taytay Mega Tiangge)

Schedule:

  • Monday - 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • Thursday - 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
  • Saturday - 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Sunday - 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM

TMT (Taytay Mega Tiangge)

This tiangge is really mega! With over 600 (if not 700 - I lost count) stalls and 29 hallways, you can really shop 'til you drop! You can find almost every fashion items including branded overruns and trendy plus size clothes. I got a Forever 21 spaghetti strap for only Php 150 (from the original USD 15 or over Php700) from one of the stalls here. I honestly can't see the factory defect.

Vloggers and bloggers just take note to ask for permission before taking photos or videos of the items they sell. Similar to EMF, some stall owners here seem to be not so happy seeing my camera. I respect that considering they have the right to refuse for their stall to be featured in any blog or vlog (Note that I never include their faces in my vlogs). They also claim that some people copy their designs so let's be mindful of this in any of the Taytay Tiangge.

Location: TMT is just across IGPAI, and alongside Octagon.

Schedule:

  • 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily except Wednesday
  • Closed only on Wednesdays
  • Note that the Saturday and Sunday vendors are not the same vendors during the weekdays

MySeoul Tiangge

A lot of items here are below 200 pesos, and they also have a big store of branded overruns here. The stores are quite dark though, it would really help the vendors if its management would install better lighting in here. I think this tiangge is a bit underrated and not a lot of people go here but they do have a lot of cheap and really pretty dresses.

Location: MySeoul is just across BAGPI and near the main road.

Schedule:

  •  Monday - 10:00 AM to midnight
  • Tuesday - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday - closed
  • Thursday - 10:00 AM to midnight
  • Friday - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Saturday - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
  • Sunday - 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

*Taytay Tiangge is really big and I have only covered 8 tiangge. This blog does not include all of the tiangge such as Masuerte Tiangge (it was closed when I went there on a Saturday).  IThere are also smaller tiangge around it like the Jazphine Tiangge and it may be worth checking that out too. Sometimes the least popular ones have the cheaper prices.  I will go back and add to the list that I have here.

UPDATE:

Masuerte 4JC Tiangge

Masuerte Tiangge was closed when I went there on a Saturday. I will be back to get some video clips from this tiangge. The schedule was provided to me by one of my readers. Credits to Mary Joy Cayton Tolentino for the photo of their schedule. I will add more information when I get there :)

Take note of their color coded Pasillo.

Tips/ Before you go

  • Bring a big ecobag, you may even need 2 especially on your first time!
  • Bring your own water bottle. The ventilation inside the tents are really good but shopping, especially during summertime, can be dehydrating. The tents are really massive and there are several tiangge in just one location.
  • Bring sufficient cash. These are tiangge and they only accept cash (I think everyone already knows this) plus the ATMs are quite walk from the tent
  • If you have time, go around the stalls first because some vendors may offer a similar design for a cheaper price
  • Check the schedule for any update especially on public holidays.
  • You can buy at a wholesale price by buying only 3 items. It can be in different colors/ print, and some stores even allow 3 different items of the same price.
  • If you can afford it and you think that the item is already valued at a cheap price, don't haggle (and this is just my opinion and you don't need to agree with me). The prices here are insanely cheap and if you haggle too much then the store owners and even their dressmakers may not earn that much. If the demand is to even lower the current prices, guess who sufferI sometimes wonder whether the market here is operating on Fair Trade (ie. Are the dressmakers being paid correctly? Are they working under proper conditions? But that's a question I may not be able to answer but I hope authorities ensure that the market is operating based on Fair Trade.
  • Throw your trash in the bins. There are a number of trash bins around so it's quite frustrating to see people throw their trash just anywhere
  •  Enjoy shopping! :)

How to get Taytay Tiangge, Taytay, Rizal

From Makati, take the UV express with the Tikling signage (Php 50).  These vans pick up passengers along Valero street  (along Corporate Center, other landmarks are BPI, Pancake House and Family Mart, it is also near Paseo Center).

Alight at Tikling where the jeepneys stop to get their passenger.  It's before a footbridge, and there's a McDonald's on the other side of the road.Take the jeepneys going to Taytay Palengke or Binangonan (Php 10). You will know that you are near Tikling when you reach SM Taytay.

Alight at Taytay Tiangge/ Club Manila East, where you will see the big tents. Other landmarks are Mang Inasal, Jollibee, McDonald's and Taytay Palengke (public market) on your right. You will already see small stalls selling clothes lined along the highway as well. All tents are just walking distance from here.

To go back to Makati, take the jeepney going to Tikling (except those that say Parola). Alight at McDonald's Tikling and take the UV express going to Ayala. Fare is the same going back. G Liners going to Quiapo would also pass through Tikling, fare is Php12.

I have not tried other routes but I know that there are jeepneys from Cubao, and the G Liner from Ortigas. You may want to research further on other routes.
